Miles, Kinda Blue

"Miles Davis's appearance at the inaugural UC Berkeley Jazz Festival in April of 1967 marked the first time I was able to witness and photograph the legendary trumpeter/composer. Looking back, this is still one of my better shots. Funny how that happens. Making up for lost time, I caught the master twice more that same year — first at UCLA and later in Costa Mesa — and regularly into the following decade as he transformed the creative music landscape."
