Sun Ra Arkestra All In Line
"On assignment for Swing Journal, Japan, I took this outside Sun Ra's now-historic home at 5626 Morton Street in Germantown, Pennsylvania. I had stepped away just long enough to change lenses, and when I turned back around, nine members of the Arkestra had assembled in a line along the block outside their home on — Marshall Allen, John Gilmore, and the rest, none of whom I'd seen anywhere near us all afternoon. And they simply arranged themselves in this line with him in front. To this day I have no idea how he managed it. Nobody spoke, nobody signaled. It was almost as if he'd summoned them."
